I am loving all these hair bow sculptures that are out lately. I’m a slight obsessor collector of ribbon so I had a bunch on hand and decided to give it a try. Not to mention the fact that I have an entire board on pinterest with hair bows I’m dying to make!Supplies-hot glue gun, 1/2 inch ribbon , scissors, hair clips. BTW-I always just go ahead and make two of everything. Oh and a lighter too!
Start with your strawberry ribbon color-hot glue dab on the outside.
Start looping-small and then larger each time. I didn’t measure I just went with it. Each time you loop up add another small dots of glue to secure-repeat until you have the size of strawberry you like.
Cut off and secure flap of ribbon with hot glue.
Smoosh!!!!
Cut two pieces of green ribbon for the stem-both the same size.Don’t forget to heat seal the edges of your ribbon with a lighter!!!!
Hot glue the first piece of stem-just flat…and now you’re going to fold the next piece so it will stand up.
I put glue on the bottoms of the folded ends and the pressed into the top.
Cover your hair clip.
And done!!!!! What I would have done differently-ironed the folded pieces of ribbon! After making the base for the strawberry next time I would press to make the point and the iron it under a towel to set the crease. The same with the stem. But Rowan didn’t seem to care! BTW-yes we are obsessed with Matilda Jane!!! It’s pretty much all she wears. What’s she wearing? The Love Bug Knot Top-Wonderful Parade Line
