Looking for a last minute fun and yummy Easter treat?
Look no further!
Grab some peeps.
Grab some chocolate and let’s do this!
Supplies-
Peeps-I would go with the bunnies-easier for covering
Cake Ball sticks
Melting Chocolate
wax paper
mini marshmallows
In a double boiler melt your chocolate. You can also use the microwave but a double boiler is much easier and less likely to burn the chocolate. Oh and mine was only $20.00 at Bed Bath and you know. Do NOT get any water in the chocolate-it will ruin the batch.Once the chocolate is melted stir completely until smooth.
Prep your area. Lay down wax paper. Pull all peeps apart. Grab your spatula. I like to use a mini spatula for covering. I found mine at Williams Sonoma.
Push your sticks through the bunny but not out of the top of the ears. Grab a glob of chocolate and start on one side. I put a glop on starting at the bottom of the bunny and smoothed up to the ear. I then flipped it over did the reverse side. I finished by doing the sides and separating the ears. This is best to do with a candy dipper or a fork will do.
It was a little tricky. You can’t dawdle. You need to cover and spread quickly since the chocolate is hot. Also remember the front of the bunny is what matters for presentation. The bottom will be flat and smooth since they will be drying on the wax paper.
Once covered lay on the wax paper and immediately add the mini marshmallow for the tail. That little thing on the left is a candy dipper.
So cute and yummy! These keep great in the fridge for up to a week!
Happy Easter my peeps!
