I hope everyone had a restful weekend. I know here in Texas many schools went to school on President’s Day but hubs was lucky enough to have the day off so we got an extra long weekend.
We are bit of homebodies…but we made it out to the movies and saw Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I really wasn’t getting my hopes up for this one but with my deep love for Mr. Darcy and his love of zombies we thought hey let’s give it a go. It was actually really really good!
Oh Mr. Darcy-he was his usual prideful and prejudiced self needing to be put in his place by Miss Elizabeth and I have decided we should go back to their style of dress with ling flowing nightgownish (yes I am fully aware I make up words) dresses and ballet flats for shows minus the being eaten by zombies part.
I will say however in this rendition- you go girl. Those girls were warriors.
This weekend Row continued her threenager love affair with blankie. (Photo proof to follow) Now when I say blankie I don’t mean her baby blanket-that thing is history I mean the blanket off of her bed. The twin sized Matilda Jane blanket she insists on bringing everywhere. Oh Linus. It is a fight to leave it for us to go into speech therapy. Does anyone else feel like 3 is way harder than 2 and there are so many battles I have a hard time picking which ones to fight? Sheesh.
We go to speech twice a week for what we love to call a severe speech delay-severe. If you know what I mean then you know what I mean. And you are not alone. I feel all alone all of the time but I remind myself that I indeed am not alone!
This following week my girlfriends and I got to hear Kristen of We Are That Family speak about raising grateful children in an entitled world. She was oh so encouraging and real and that’s why I have followed her for years-years. Her words have sat right in my heart and with our speech delay island of loneliness I remember the words Kristin spoke. If you are going to compare yourself as we so often do…. if you’re going to compare up (to those who have more) then you must compare down (to those who are struggling more) in order to gain perspective. Ahhh! It gets you doesn’t it! Thank you Kristen!
May your heart be full of gratefulness this coming week. What are you grateful for?
