A New Day
Our Easter was calm. Our day was spent with us. When I was little we lived in Massachusetts so what I remember about holidays was it was just us. Hubs was the same. In fact, that’s one reason we get along so well. We love our extended family and are so happy to see them and join in but we love being just us.
We slept in-Row has a way of sleeping in on days when most kids get up early-like Christmas. Row woke up and hubs went and got her for snuggles-we snuggle on the weekend. Just the three of us. We heard the door creak and Grandma joined just us. She’s become a part of us and we wouldn’t want her to miss any of the fun.
Row had put her Easter basket out on the table the night before in hopes the Easter Bunny would come. We talked about the promise of Jesus and how he was making all things new again. How he was removing the veil between us and God. How in Spring everything becomes new.
She woke up to her basket filled to the brim with treats-I let the bunny know she’s not into candy much these days.
She was so happy-so content and so were we.
That’s what we did all day-just be, just us.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday reflecting and looking forward to all things new.
Weekend Recap
I’m a little late on this one.Our weather here went from 90 last week to 45 today-it’s been a killer!
This weekend we inched our way up to Easter! This is the week Jesus was ushered in by the people waving palms. This is the week He was betrayed, this is the week His mother lost her son, this is the week we gained redemption. May we pause and ready our hearts for this immense miracle.
We are getting ready for our Easter celebration! Crafts and stories a bunnies and eggs and peeps of course.
We continued our month long birthday extravaganza by going to another party this weekend. This time it was a gymnastics party. After this year I think I will pretty much know every place to have a party in our town. Row had a blast jumping and jumping and jumping. We did too!
Hubs and I thanks to Grandma got to catch Zootopia-my choice. Since I only got to see a good ten minutes with Row I had been jonesing to see the rest. I am a Disnerd. We went and it was AMAZING! I loved it sooooo much. So much great subject matter and they did a great job explaining grown up problems such as prejudice and racism, and striving for your dreams. I was really impressed. Of course it will be coming home with us once it’s on DVD.
I hope you had an amazing weekend and are gearing up for a cherished week. I’m prepping to make the Bunny cake!!!
