Ahhh….the memories. I am helping myself get through my Disney depression by sharing my wonderful and not so wonderful memories.
Our family had the opportunity this go round to have dinner at the Sci-Fi Dine In Restaurant located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The gist of this restaurant is that diners are seated at a drive in theater while dining.
I always use a meal plan for easy budgeting and awesome eating and this time we had the dining plan with one table service, one quick serve and one snack a day each-Row was under 3 and allowed to eat off of our plates.
Check out the super cool sign at the entrance!
I really try to squeeze in loads of new experiences every time we visit Disney World and this was our first time at Sci-Fi.
I love love loved the theme. It was so adorable. We were escorted into a 1950’sesque drive in movie theater complete with fake grass, fences, and those adorable little speakers next to the cars for the sound. The restaurant comes complete with an actual drive in screen which plays campy black and white exerts from 1950’s films.
Check out our table-we sat in an actual car-we also had hitchhikers-two additional guests in the back.
Sci-Fi is know for their awesome milkshakes and they count as a dessert and are all you can drink so it’s a win win.
The food is decent but the atmosphere is awesome. I will say this however it was not awesome for me because it was my turn with the toddler this time.I recommend that with children 4 and under you limit table service dining to one or two for the trip. You must have reservations to get sit down dining at Disney and even with a reservation there will still be a wait time. Row was tired by the time we got seated and then we had to wait to order. Sci-Fi also has the movie option going which I thought would help keep Row bust during dinner but instead riled her up.
I recommend only going with children 5 and Up and this would be so much fun for tweens and teens. I had to get my milkshake to go and Row and I exited while Grandma and hubs ate. On the bright side we got to be in the park after closing and the streets were empty=cool. Being alone with my girl in the park was pretty magical.
Definitely a try again later-and if you’re going milkshake it baby!
