Galveston Oh Galveston! Grandma’s birthday was a ways back and do you know what she wanted to do? Go to Galveston. So we did! We loaded up there old family truckster and headed down. My Aunt and Cousin and her two kiddos joined us. Of course her children don’t wake up at 9 so they were there a bit before us.
They went to the beach first so they could leave before traffic hit and we meandered on over. Our first stop was Joe’s Crab Shack and while the service and food was ehhhh we did have an amazing time before watching the birds harbor side. We also got to eat outside harbor side. Row though it was amazing!!! Toddler score!
After eating we went on over to the Strand. Me, Myself…well I love the Strand. It’s way different than casually shopping as a single then now having a toddler. One place that never fails to impress is LA King’s Confectionery. This puppy was built in 20’s and has survived everything. The coolest thing is it’s an old timey soda shop on one side in true form and a penny candy-but more than a penny store on the other side. It’s so beautiful.
Check out the awesomeness….
And the rows of candy….Row picked out her own. The candy is really good and fresh!!!!
Taffy anyone?
They have those cute wrought iron chairs-even kiddie sized ones, ice cream-homemade, milkshakes-the old fashion kind. But they don’t have a stroller ramp-toddler fail.
We managed to do a bit of shopping before heading to the beach. Row semi loved it. She loved seeing it. She did not however love the water/waves. Each time a wave and I mean tiny people like just the water came up towards her feet she would sit down and lay backwards. My dear child was trying to drown herself.
She loved the mud and the shells and we grabbed some to make an upcoming ocean discovery bottle!

Have you been to Galveston lately? Anything cool you love to do?
Oh and my dear friends party decorating and cooking is in full affect! Can’t wait for the big 2!
Row is wearing Matilda Jane-Navy Lizzy and Hudson Ruffles and Livie and Luca Navy Merrybells, on the beach it’s Matilda Jane’s Backyard Baby Set and a custom made to match bonnet by Jo FabricFlorist Thompson.
