Deco Mesh Burlap Wreath Tutorial

It’s wreath season! So all the holidays are coming and you really don’t need to spend $80 or more on a wreath! They’re so easy, especially with deco mesh! Supplies you will need-

A Work Wreath-that’s the circular green thing. If you’re going to make a deco mesh I suggest the green circular work wreath. They come in a variety of sizes. I choose big! I grab mine at Hobby Lobby because I can always use a coupon!

One roll of deco mesh-they now make burlap! I have used actual burlap before but the deco mesh retains shape better.

Ad ons-ribbon, an additional color of deco mesh-in mine I’m using Matilda Jane mesh bags since this particular wreath I use when hosting a Matilda Jane trunk show-fun right!

Start with your work wreath and open up all the ends/pipe cleaner thingys so they’re standing straight up. Unwrap your deco mesh, grab one end and throw the rest of the roll on the ground. Attach the beginning of the deco mesh roll to one of the pipe cleaners, twist in place. If you’re only using one deco mesh and no add ons you can hide the work pipe cleaners pieces as you go. If you’re adding more tie them tight and leave the ends standing up.

After the first end is tied down grab a section of the roll and make a poof in your hand, squeeze, and attach to the work wreath again-repeat repeat. You will most likely use the whole roll of deco mesh.

After the last deco mesh is used you will be at the end of your wreath-now go back and fluff. Adding a second color-repeat. I added white ribbon. I find wire ribbon is easier to use with wreath making than regular ribbon.

These are so easy and once you’ve tried it once you’ll get the hang of it quickly. You can easily make the wreath I made for roughly $17-yep! Crazy right! And it’s huge!

Don’t get frustrated….go slow, poof, and move on. I’m hoping to make a garland for Christmas! To attach to the front door I just tie a pretty ribbon at the top.

Our Halloween activities are starting u this week! Baby Halloween party play date Wednesday with trick or treat bags and hidden oreo cupcakes! This Friday our local zoo will be hosting Boo at the Zoo!!!! Pics to come!
