So this week is a little crazy. I have been Halloween decorating and purging my decorations. Because ya’ll I had five large tubs of Halloween not including lights for the house. I have this collection of Department 56 houses. Originally it was just Christmas. When I was little my Nana would set up her original, original department 56 snow village with snow and everything. After she passed away I became the proud owner of her village. So I started my own more current line as well. Totally obsessed with the Christmas Tree Lane Series…I digress.
So Halloween-well they have a Halloween series too…and I store all of these houses and accessories in their boxes and every year I buy something new. So off to the super expensive boutique I go to buy an accessory for my Halloween village. I browse…I find two new houses-breathe….breathe…rationally I can’t have them right now-toddler hands…no where to put them enclosed. I snag a new tree…..I’ll just walk over to the Christmas section since I bought nothing last year and just look. I spy Margo and Todd in silver jogging suits and think…wait…wait….(are you there yet?) CHRISTMAS VACATION-NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS HOUSE AHHHHHHHHHH.
It’s the Griswold house with all the lights-yes I bought it and didn’t care what it cost-a lot!!!!!
And this….
I mean I had to have the accessory…and there’s also Eddie and his trailer and the station wagon with the tree. I mean I don’t know about you but this movie is legendary in our home. I remember going to the movies with my parents in 6th grade to see this-and we NEVER went to the movies. I watch this movie from Thanksgiving on-there was a time when it was every night. My Dad was gifted by Row a Marty Moose mug last year. I say to the sales ladies….who know me…I took one year off and this happened.
Also this week has just in general been crazy. One of my dear friends had her baby boy and I got to pop in today and snuggle and bring dinner-love that. I’m doing family photos this Friday with the amazing Melissa from Snapped with Love Photography, the same afternoon I leave for Canton, TX and their trade days-which is shopping amazingness-pics to come-returning Saturday evening, and hosting a Matilda Jane trunk show at the house Sunday evening. Which by the way this release has a ridiculous amount of cute baby outfits-message me should you need anything!
