I love little girl socks! It’s all about the accessories….and something about little girls and ruffled or lace socks just kill me. Now I am a Texan and we do things big-like bows. I was having a hard time finding socks that had enough ruffle. In fact, I wasn’t even finding lace trim or ribbon trimmed socks. It seems like they’ve just disappeared. So I turned to my trusty Pinterest pins and wahlah-tutu socks! First of all these are easy! You don’t have to sew or even be crafty. I put these babies on Row and gasped with excitement screaming I need these in every color!!!! So here ya go!
Supplies
Tulle-any color-I picked the tulle that came on a spool because it ended up being much easier to cut.
Elastic-you can also use a smaller size if you prefer. That’s it people!
1.Cut and Tie
Cut the elastic-I just measured around Row’s ankle while she was running and added a bit of slack. Now cut a second matching piece and tie into knots. Cut the excess off from the knot edge.
3.Prep Tulle
Cut the tulle into rectangler strips. This is why I used the spool-just unroll and snip. No need to measure just wing it. I cut a ton and ended up needing more. No stress-just keep that spool close by baby!
4.Knot and Repeat
Find something circular-a glass will do! My choice-hubs college diploma-I know we really need to hang them all up-I’m working on it. Slide the elastic on so it’s taunt. Now slide each piece of tulle one by one onto the elastic and knot. Continue until you have the fullness you desire. I desired a lot.
5. Wear and Rejoice
How easy was that! You know what’s awesome? You can cut these bad boys if you made your piece too long. Slide these on over a pair of regular socks and bam-tutu socks! They look attached right??? I’m making black for Halloween next!!
What’s Row wearing? Matilda Jane Love Letter Shabby top and French Fry Shorties. Her shoes are Mini Melissa’s-they’re similar to jelly shoes and smell like strawberries 🙂
The original pin where I found these was here! Thanks for your brilliance!
