Do you like bugs? I don’t…

Do you like BIG BUGS? Anamatronic awesomely amazing bugs? The Houston Zoo runs special exhibits during the year. At Christmastime they light up the zoo with thousands of little twinkle lights and yes they all twinkle, not like Christmas Vacation Clark. We decided, well I mean I decided to visit the Houston Zoo’s newest temporary exhibit titled Extreme Bugs. Our family has a membership so we go often. The great thing about having a membership is I feel like we don’t have to get everything in all at once. We can leave when the baby gets tired or hot. So for this visit we really went just to see the Extreme Bugs and elephants because who doesn’t love an elephant? BTW-Baby Duncan the elephant to be exact.

The temporary exhibits are an additional cost but members also save on that. It was a nominal fee of $3.95 and members paid $2.95.  The exhibit was short and sweet and pretty cool.

Row started to think they were going to eat her! The neat thing was the bugs were actually gigantic anamatronics. Throughout the walk there was loads of trivia and interesting facts. All the way through exhibit they had large food as well. I’m talking about a giant oreo, it was not helping my diet. For some reason every time I’m at the zoo I feel like I should have cotton candy…..anybody else?:)

We mazed through the entire bug exhibit and decided that this was our favorite….

You can’t tell very well but they had steam coming out of him and hair! Pretty neat! The exhibit ended with a photo opportunity and a gift store -bugs only items. It also dropped you off right next to the actual bug exhibit. Which is kind of cool and gross. Every animal has it’s part right?

Go to the zoo and have a blast! Looking for other things to do while you’re at the Houston zoo? Read my previous post here.

What’s your favorite bug? I’m picking bee-BEEcause my Dad’s a beekeeper!
