Weekend Wrap up

December 1, 2015 By Callie Leave a Comment

I hope everyone had a restful and stressless holiday week!

Ours was spent getting all of those things done that pile on day after day and I was loving it.

We had Thanksgiving at home which was nice. Hubs and I both grew up only having Thanksgiving with our immediate family and so Thanksgiving at a house with tons of people although fun can be a bit overwhelming. Grandma was here of course.

Hubs cooked the turkey-I handled everything else and Row was awake this year.

We have literally been eating turkey dinner for every meal and it’s pretty awesome not meal planning!

Grandma and I geared up for some shopping! We live for drama-it’s true. We actually only go to one or two stores, grab our stuff and dart back home.

On Saturday we headed out to Dewberry Farms to cut down our annual Christmas tree. They actually shape them all year long and so they’re pretty much all perfect. It had been 80 and sweaty the day before as we hung our lights. Let it be known Grandma did some, hubs did some and I did some-not pictured is me of course. I also bought those star shower laser lights this year-AMAZING wait no LIFE CHANGING.

And so since it was freezing Row might have been a bit cold/bundled.

After we rode the hayride out to the tree farm hubs walked out, grabbed a saw and said-Callie pick which ever one you want and hurry-so I did. He cut it down, and the boy handed him the tag we didn’t look at and realized that it was $200 we both almost fainted. He was a trooper though and it came home with us.

It's a little full and a lot big

It’s a little full and a lot big

It may be a little big is all….10 foot ceilings yikes-no tree topper this year and so starts our year of the most expensive live Christmas tree we will ever own.

Our $200 tree touches the ceiling- note to self check the tag before cutting next year

But one the upside we have a memory and someone had the best day ever.

Somebody had a good time picking a tree

Somebody had a good time picking a tree

Why yes that is a Christmas Minnie Mouse.

May We Be Thankful

November 26, 2015 By Callie Leave a Comment

On this most wonderful day may we take a moment to be truly present.

Lord,

I pray you find each of us with our hearts full of your blessings. May we be mindful of the promise that your plan is better than ours. May we live each day with hope and gratitude. May we be mindful of the sadness and loneliness of others so that we may be your light in the world. May we model your love through our deeds. For we know the promises you have made to walk beside us in our times of joy and carry us in our times of grief.

I pray you find blessing this holiday in the smallest of things. Thank you for joining this journey with me. For the blessings you give me are far greater than those I can give.

Love

Weekend Wrap Up

December 1, 2014 By Callie Leave a Comment

Well for us this was one long weekend! Hubs took the whole week off and well so did I. We have been playing it low key. I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving!

Row and I did some pre-sale shopping. Mainly because I couldn’t wait to pick up the supplies for my Christmas Planner-tutorial to come. I can’t wait to break open this bad boy this week. I need to seriously keep things in tow.

Christmas planner planning

While shopping we may have found these ginormous beanie babies which she is addicted to….and well we left with one. Do you see the look of pride and joy on her face? Yep…he’s been in her bed with her arm around him every night.

Great! Extra large ones

Not my proudest moment

We stayed home and played Thanksgiving low key. I love staying in and watching the parade and then rushing last minute because the turkey is done two hours early and I hadn’t made any of the side dishes yet-ugh.

We shopped a bit and scored some deals. We ran to Old Navy and since I have a toddler, even though she was at home, I didn’t try on a thing, bought everything and now have a bag to return. However, I’m glad I did it because the deals were awesome. I actually was able to score some black Friday deals that I was nervous about getting online on Thanksgiving. Sweet.

We ran into Target and the line started in the pet department!!!!! It was worse than Disney but much faster.

The line to check out in target starts in the pet department.

Friday we chilled-did the mall thing-J.Crew!!!!

Saturday-oh my Aunt and cousin had a house lighting party at their house. It was amazing and Row was so excited to see the lights turn on. It was like she got it for the first time this year. We spent a large portion of time letting her run through the trees and she insisted on touching all the lights. Oh and hubs put up our lights too!!!

She loves the Christmas lights!

It's happening!

Sunday we went to the farm and cut down our tree. Details to come. It was beyond fun!!!!

So are you ready for this? We are!

What’s Row wearing? Birds of a Feather Lap Dress and Indigo Leggings-both Matilda Jane and Livie and Luca Gray Suede Sparkle Petal Shoes for the house lighting.
