Easy Valentine’s for Toddlers

January 13, 2016 By Callie 3 Comments

I can’t believe it’s right around the corner. our Christmas decorations are down with the exception of the small silver tree which is now a Valentine’s tree-boo ya-he’s not thrilled.

Time to start thinking about getting fun things together for your Valentine parties. Our play group and music class tends to shy away from candy for the littles. I personally don’t mind candy I mean it’s Valentine’s Day. I do however, try to be mindful of others and pick fun things.

Two quick and easy Valentine’s we have given and have been a big hit are these easy and inexpensive crayon sets. Check the school supply section and snag them now before they sell out. For some reason the smaller packs always sell out quickly.

It also gave mean excuse to use washi and as you can see here I need excuses!

Oh another hit was the mini play dough-in Valentine’s colors of course!

How easy is that? Let’s get this Valentine thing done! Check!

Top 10 Toddler Stocking Stuffers

November 10, 2015 By Callie

It’s happening….Christmas shopping. Now I don’t want to skip over Thanksgiving-especially since we have Toddler Thanksgiving coming up… but I really need to have it on my mind.

IMG_3291

I loved living in a smaller town, but hated driving forever to get to anything. The joy of living in a small town is things don’t sell out immediately. In the Houston area if you see it you’d better snag it!

Stockings can easily be…well…lame and so this year let’s throw some pizzazz in with that lame. I live with a toddler and they can be demanding :).

My Top 10 Toddler Stocking Stuffers are…

1.Washcloths…yep…we use those bad boys after meals and in the tubby and they’re always getting worn. So now’s the time to splurge on the nice Pottery Barn ones…and yes they will be on sale the weekend after Thanksgiving. Make your list for that day of online shopping and buy these bad boys.

2. Coloring Books-Toddlers love to scribble so why not a nice rolled up coloring book.

3. Slippers-won’t those look so cute on their baby feet and you can squoosh them right in that stocking easily.

4. Playdough-we are definitely in a playdough phase. If you need something big for the bottom of the stocking you can grab a full sized can if not Target has limited edition small glow in the dark cans-super cool. Oh and the super soft cans that are purple and nice too.

5. Toothbrush-this is mainly because I always got one in my stocking every year but who doesn’t love a random new toothbrush-no one. Oh and Radius has the most amazing toddler brushes-Totz. Highly rated and easy to grip. The perfect size for toddler teeth!

6. Fun Pens and Pencils-I love school supplies-teacher-so does Row and my new fav company-International Arrivals has some awesome options for the holidays and everyday. Honestly I wouldn’t mind if I got some. Just check out the ninja erasers-high ya…

Oh @internationalarrivals you make stocking stuffing fun and easy! #AD #ninjame

7. Bubbles-bubbles are no fail in the world of a toddler. I mean…bubbles…

8. Bath Toys-the dollar stores/dollar spots at Target always have fun bath crayons and this year Row will be getting some of those coloring changing bath fizzes-made by Crayola.

9. Stickers-I’m opting for the scratch and sniff ones. You can still find them online! Great for developing fine motor skills.

10. Experience Coupon-I really want Row to have the gift of experiences as opposed to tons of gifties. This will be the first year she’ll really understand that. We have picked something simple like going bowling. How fun!

I am always on the lookout for new and fun ideas for stocking….have any? Please share in the comments section.

Weekend Wrap Up

March 30, 2015 By Callie Leave a Comment

Our weekend started off with a bang on Friday! Probably more Thursday when someone said hey I’ll see you tomorrow and I was all like whhhhattt? Oh that’s right I’m hosting a Toddler Easter Party.

fav2

I love a party! I dreamed of the day we would have a child an experience all the fun ness of childhood again and believe me when I say I don’t miss a moment. I decided to host our toddler friends Easter party at the house complete with an egg hunt. Each Mama dropped off 24 filled eggs to my house prior to the party. Does that sound like a lot?

What I adore about the group of women I call Mama friends is they are always ready for fun and they are always ready to help. The event was pot luck so I only had to worry about one dish, plates, and water. Stress less. I also am at a point with these gals that I don’t run around crazy cleaning. I mean I vacuumed and tidied but not much more.

Mamas sent messages about if they could bring their bunny costume for pictures-thanks Melissa-you were a trooper and amazing. Sadly Row refused a pic. One Mama-Amber asked if she could bring a backdrop for pictures. Melissa brought her niece and nephew to help hide eggs. Jennifer brought treats for each kiddo and Row gave each friend a basket for egg hunting. We played outside and had so much food there wasn’t room on my counters!

The egg hunt came and Row got it this year! She had a blast finding eggs. Also an Easter miracle happened we successfully got 10 two year olds and 1 six month old to sit in a line and take a group photo!!! A MIRACLE!

Opening her stash! I love a good toddler party!

I also had the pleasure of celebrating this guy-my best friend, my boyfriend, my partner in crime, and the one I cannot live without. We celebrated the whole week complete with a misspelled birthday cake-he wanted a store bought one like he had when he was little. A trip to the park and a first time running on hills moment.

Oh and we bought a new filing cabinet and filed our taxes yay-growing up sucks!
